Happy Saturday dear souls! It’s another beautiful Saturday upon us. Sitting here this morning grateful for the sound of birds, happy animals snoring and a warm cup of coffee. I think most of you may know I’m in an area which is getting a lot of press at the moment. Where I sit it is calm and, yes, there is a limited area in downtown that’s filled with activity in the night. Bottom line – there is a lot of rhetoric, division and fear at play. My prayer – that we do unto others as we would have done unto yourselves! Pray for each other, really listen to each other’s stories; until you’ve walked a mile in another’s shoes you couldn’t truly understand their joys, hopes, deep hurts and fears. But you can be empathetic. Let us hold each other up in respect, love, care and kindness. My goodness – let’s be good one to the other. Please know, you are truly needed, wanted, loved and treasured. Ask for guidance from God and you will be given some great ideas. A great way to start is to release anger, forgive others (and yourself) and let the bitterness go. Be encouraging in words and deeds. Thankful Thursday dear souls!!! Gooood morning! Today is a day to take time to voice what we are grateful for (though a good practice each morning). I am grateful for precious time with my kids, family and friends I can reach out to, a place to live, the necessities of life, a job, many other blessings bestowed upon me, and, of course, the critter souls that share my home. Happy Saturday dear souls! Good morning! So sad at the passing of the great John Lewis – Civil Rights leader – warrior soul and light bearer. A man with a mission – gave himself to service his whole life. What can we do to be a light bearer in these times? Listen, learn and stand beside each other, brothers and sisters, in love and support. I cannot even fathom what another soul may experience, but I know I have been given bountiful opportunities others may have not. So in his memory, I will not forget – in memory of others, I will not forget. Thank you John for being a soul who never gave up. You are needed, wanted and treasured. It’s FriYay dear souls – our kindness challenge day. Happpppy Friday challenge day!! So … it’s Friday once again! How can you participate in our kindness challenge – pretty simple – focus this day in kindness. Be loving and kind to yourself and others.

Some suggestions: 1) if your ordering food for pick up, leave an extra tip for those preparing your meal as well as those who deliver; 2) if you’re in a drive through, pay all or part of the order behind you; 3) leave a thank you note and a bottle of water or packaged snack for a mail carrier or a deliverer; 4) give words of encouragement or affirmation to every soul you talk to; 5) listen to hear – not just to respond; 6) leave some water out for the birds or other critters during the day; and 7) for you – speak words of kindness in your heart and in your mind and don’t put yourself down. There ya go – add suggestions if you like in a reply – what are ways you see as bringing kindness. We can spread goodness and kindness in ways that truly are quite easy to do.
